St George's Church, Crosby, Scunthorpe

St George's Church, Crosby, Scunthorpe A welcoming and inclusive church in the Crosby area of Scunthorpe. Vicar: Mother Kate Hough St George's serves the Crosby area of Scunthorpe. Licensed for reuse.

Vicar: Mother Kate Hough. St George's postal address is Digby Street, but most people recognise the Church location as Frodingham Road. St George's is a welcoming Christian church that has been at the heart of the community since the 1920's. We are proud to be an Inclusive Church (http://inclusive-church.org.uk/) within a diverse community. Being inclusive means welcoming people, without prejudice or judgement. St George's is a place where everyone can feel respected and at home, regardless of sexuality, gender, race, ability or disability, class, creed or status. Sunday services begin at 10.45am. In most services we have an order of worship with prayers and sing a mixture of traditional and modern hymns. Even so, we don't ask or expect people to conform to a rigid set of beliefs or values when they visit our church. Come as you are, sit with us during our services and join in, if you wish. We're very pleased to have your company. The church is available for other services eg baptisms, weddings, blessings, Prayers of Love and Faith. Please contact us about any of these services. St George's is also available for funeral services, normally arranged through the funeral director. Our worship space can be hired for events and quiet functions. We have a modern equipped kitchen. (The church is not licensed for serving or consuming alcohol). Cover photo: Copyright David Wright (Geograph website).

Don't forget to follow our new page as we will soon be closing down this page as we bring both churches together

In the middle of a busy week, it's easy to forget to pause.

This evening we'll gather together for worship, prayer and Holy Communion.

Whether you'll be joining us in person or taking sixty seconds to pray wherever you are, we'd love to pray alongside you.

Is there something weighing on your heart today?

Perhaps someone is unwell.
Perhaps you're facing an important decision.
Perhaps you simply need peace.

Leave a ❀️ below if you'd simply like us to pray for you, or send us a private message if your prayer request is personal.

As candles are lit this evening, we'll remember our community, our families and everyone who has entrusted us with their prayers.

May the peace of Christ be with you today.

This Saturday at Scunthorpe Pride we will be promoting our Open Table Network services. Open Table services are for members of the LGBTQ+ community, their families, friends and all allies.

St George's is a long standing Inclusive Church and we hope to demonstrate that our church is, and always will be a safe, welcoming and loving place for all.

We are proud to stand with LGBTQ+ people and all of their friends at this great community event. βœοΈβ€οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

It's really good to read about the GCSE successes of young people from our local community. All too often we read negative stories and comments about young people and families in and around Crosby, but these examples of hard work and achievement show a different side and demonstrate a better narrative.

We hold all school leavers in our prayers and wish them well. β€οΈπŸ™
