DEVINE DESIGNS Celebrating the 73 books of the Bible: This is an art competition and exhibition to celebrate creativity and innovation, while seeking to promote a greater visual awareness and understanding of the Bible today. The aim is to bring each book of the bible alive through the medium of art. Artists, graphic designers and illustrators are invited to enter this competition and must be resident in the UK and aged 18 years or over as of 31 December 2026. To help those entering, and to ensure that all books are chosen, the organisers encourage artists to register their interest and the book, or books, that they would like to design by 31 July 2026 at 5pm (multiple submissions welcome by 21 Sept 2026). CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING COURSE

Come and find out more about Catholic Social Teaching, sometimes called the Church’s ‘best kept secret’.

The course will take place over six weekly sessions on Monday from 5 to 7 pm at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 23 Brooklands, Filey, YO14 9BA starting on June 8th until July 13th. Each session will include prayer, an input, reflection and sharing. All welcome. No booking required.

Catholic Social Teaching (CST) is the Church's body of moral teaching about how human life should be lived out in society, especially in politics, economics and social institutions so that people can live with dignity and pursue the common good. Catholic Social Teaching is rooted in Scripture and the teachings of the Church and is an integral part of the life and mission of the Church.

Session 1 on Monday 8th June - The Church's Best Kept Secret: Sources and Core Principles

Session 2 on Monday 15th June - CST Core Principle of Human Dignity

Session 3 on Monday 22nd June - CST Core Principles of Solidarity and Subsidiarity

Session 4 on Monday 29th June - CST Core Principles of Care of Creation and Option for the Poor

Session 5 on Monday 6th July - CST Core Principle of The Common Good

Session 6 on Monday 13th July - See, Discern and Act
