This Sunday we celebrated with St Elizabeth Hospice following the collections at our Christmas services (we gave them the money in January). Thank you to everyone who gave across our carol services, together we raised over £1200!

We have a team of visiting bell ringers coming to St John's, Saxmundham, at 3pm this afternoon (Wednesday). They're going to ring a peal which will take around 3 hours. It has been a long time since they were rung for that amount of time!

Join us this Sunday 12th for an evening of worship! 6pm @ St John’s Church. Informal, relaxed and inspiring !

Yesterday, Friday 20th March, we had the church architect and a structural engineer come to visit St Mary and St Peter's, Kelsale, along with a man with a cherry picker.

Unfortunately the roof above the nave (the main body of the church) has been declared unsafe. This means we cannot have people in the nave of the church. However, the South aisle (on the right when you walk in) is safe and so we are allowed to continue services there.

The photo below shows how the 'new' set up will work. In fact, records indicate this was where the earliest worship would have been so we're simply reverting to the original worship space.

As for timelines, it could take a few years to complete investigations, raise the funds necessary, and do the work. This means for the foreseeable future we will be worshipping in the South aisle.

As I said in my sermon the other day, God is in the business of creation and restoration, and so we will pray that the restoration of the church building will point to the restoration we find through Jesus Christ.

God bless,
Dave
