Tomb watch 2026. Still sealed.

Join us today for our Holy Saturday service of remembrance at 11am, Sawston Free Church. A space to light a candle for someone you have loved and lost.

God of the in-between,
we stand today at the sealed tomb —
not yet singing,
not yet seeing,
just waiting.

The stone is still in place.
The silence feels heavy.
Hope is not gone,
but it is hidden…
like a seed beneath the soil,
like breath held in the dark.

Be close today
to those who know this place too well —
those who grieve,
those who sit beside absence,
those who wait without answers.
Hold them in the quiet.
Sit with them in the shadows.
Let them know
that even here,
especially here,
you have not stepped away.

And for all of us,
teach us the courage of this day:
to wait without rushing,
to trust without seeing,
to keep vigil in love.
For the story is not finished.
But today, we rest in the silence,
and we place all that is broken
into your gentle keeping.

Amen.
