With the greatest of sadness, we announce the passing of John Austin, a dedicated Bellringer and valued member of the St. Mary’s church volunteer community. John was known for his commitment to the Chester Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers - South Branch, his involvement in the life of the church and his contribution to the tower over the last 30 years. This included a period as Tower Captain, but John will be mostly remembered by us for his passion for bellringing, his willingness to help others, and the fellowship he brought to the tower.

His legacy lives on in the sound of the bells and the community he helped to build and will be deeply missed by his fellow ringers, friends, and all who knew him. We have dedicated tonight as an evening of tintinnabulation in his memory.
