Prayer for today

Faithful God,
You are my helper and my sustainer,
the One who stands beside me when I feel unsure
and lifts me when my strength runs thin.

When worries rise or the path feels heavy,
remind me that I do not walk alone.
Your presence steadies my steps,
Your kindness restores my courage,
Your love holds me more securely than anything else ever could.

Be my help today—
in the decisions I make,
in the conversations I hold,
in the quiet places where only You see my thoughts.
Strengthen me with Your peace,
and let Your Spirit breathe hope into every corner of my life.

Thank You, Lord,
for being the One who sustains me,
now and always.
Amen.

A huge THANK YOU to Arran Guild for the amazing day yesterday....organising the event, hiring a bus for ferry passengers (most welcome, considering the heavy rain!), the splendid afternoon tea, the warmest of welcomes. A wonderful Ayrshire Guilds Together Gathering.

Central Guilds Together met on Saturday 23rd May at the Tryst Halls, Pitlochry Church of Scotland. The meeting started with a welcome from the Minister, Rev. Mark Foster, followed by a short AGM. Renee Riddell led the meeting, along with members of the Central Guilds Together Leadership Team. Bible readings were paired with songs from The Sound of Music, which everyone sang together, with words projecting on the screen and accompanied by piano. Afterwards there was refreshments and baking. Many members came up on the bus and there was time before the meeting started at 1.30pm to explore Pitlochry and have some lunch, with the bus coming back to the church at 4pm. Sounds like a lovely day out for all involved!

Prayer for today

Holy and sovereign God,
Today I pause and take to heart the truth You set before Your people:
that You alone are God,
in the heights of heaven,
in the depths of the earth,
and in every place my feet may go.

Let this truth settle deeply within me.
Calm my restless thoughts,
steady my anxious heart,
and remind me that nothing in my life
falls outside Your care or Your authority.

Where I am tempted to rely on my own strength,
turn my eyes back to You.
Where I chase after lesser things,
draw me again to Your steadfast love.
Where I forget Your nearness,
whisper to my spirit that You are here.

Lord, shape my choices, my words, and my steps
so that they reflect trust in Your goodness
and confidence in Your rule over all things.
Teach me to live each day with the quiet assurance
that I am held by the One who reigns above and below,
the One who never changes,
the One who is faithful forever.

Amen.

Ayrshire Guilds Together Gathering in Brodick, Arran today. Attended by about 100 people, 50 or 60 of whom had made their way by ferry from Ardrossan. A great sing, too!
Various reports were heard with great enthusiasm, including an appeal for funds to help Guilds in Mzimba, Malawi source water supply for their crops. The result was a magnificent offering of £500.
Karen Gillon, General Secretary spoke on the 'Dare to Dream' strategy being formulated by the Guild's National Council.
