Today's is Pentecost Sunday! This evening Christians from across Wiltshire and Dorset will be coming together to worship and pray for people to come and know Jesus. It's not too late to join us. You can still book tickets at bit.ly/tkcs2019 or get admission on the door.
Please come in plenty of time! The Cathedral Refectory will be with a great range of drinks and snacks, from 5.30pm the cloisters will be open with a bookstall from Sarum College, resources from Precept Ministries UK and the opportunity to meet organisations being salt and light in our communities. Doors to the cathedral will be open from 6.45pm so everyone can be in and ready to start at 7pm. (Doors to the Youth Venue at Bishop Wordsworths School on Exeter Street open at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start).

This Sunday young people from churches across Wiltshire and Dorset will be gathering together at Bishop Wordsworth's School to Worship and Pray together before joining the Thy Kingdom Come Beacon event at Salisbury Cathedral. This morning we went up to the top of the spire of Cathedral to pray Thy Kingdom Come over our city and the surrounding area and to worship and pray in prepartion for this Sunday's Cathedral Beacon Event. Today's Ascension Day!

"He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight."

Throughout the next eleven days until Pentecost Sunday Christians across the world will be praying for people to come to know Jesus. They will be gathering to pray in homes, churches and cathedrals.
