A Christmas Thank You

To Hilary for her love and artistic talent. The little church of St Mary the Virgin, Winterbourne Gunner, is transformed again by her beautiful flower arrangements and decorations for the Christmas season.

To Peter, who is our glue, for bringing our worship and fellowship together with love and harmony and joy and enthusiasm.

To the team at The Bourne Valley Magazine and In Touch, for bringing us our news and information every month/week.

I know there are dozens of others who work tirelessly and diligently throughout the whole of the Bourne Valley in the spirit of the old Christmas Carol.

Yet what I can, I give Him
Give my Heart.

Our Harvest Festival Service is on Sunday 15 October 2023
at 0930.
All are welcome and if anyone would like to join us for our harvest shared lunch, please contact Catherine by email ([email protected]) for more details.
Traditionally, we bring gifts to church to celebrate the harvest. For some years, our gifts have been for the Trussell Trust Salisbury Food Bank to help those less fortunate in our communities, for whom the cost-of-living increases are very challenging. Tinned and packet foods are most useful as they can be stored and distributed more easily than fresh produce – thank you.

On Sunday 29th October, close to All Saints Day and All Souls Day, we will be holding our annual Service of Remembering at 4.00pm in St Mary’s Winterbourne Gunner, and invite all those who have experienced bereavement in recent months, or longer ago, to come and give thanks for your loved ones at this gentle, reflective Service. Candles, which can be placed on graves or kept at home, are given, and refreshments are offered afterwards, so it would be very helpful if you could please contact Hilary Geddie on 01980 611575 or by email: [email protected] to confirm your attendance. St Mary’s is accessed via a grassed path off the A338, and it would be wise to wear robust shoes/boots and to bring a torch. NB: BST ends during the night of Saturday 28th October, so please be aware the evenings will begin to get darker earlier then.
