We learned about forgiveness, how Jesus sat with sinners and welcomed them; we made foil decorations and paper air planes that we threw out into the world, just as the disciples spread the Word.

Manchester & Salford Whit Walks 2026.

J Club

Today we thought about the disciples being sent out into the world to spread the Word, that Christ is our Saviour. We found the word ‘Welcome’ in different languages and coloured them brightly.

J Club

Today J Club walked around the perimeter of the church in our own ‘Walk of Witness’ and learned about the Manchester Whit Walks. We made cut outs of our feet to create our own banner of witness as we continue to walk with God.

Today we had our Christian Aid Week service, which included a really good, short video about an impressive woman, living in very poor conditions in part of Nairobi, who had been given great practical support by one of Christian Aid partner agencies, which enabled her to grow an urban farm. The vegetables not only fed her family but also meant she could sell some of the produce too, which helped with school fees, hospital costs etc. After the service we had our Big Brunch, to which everyone was welcomed, whether or not they could make a donation to Christian Aid. Thanks to a little team of 4 there was plenty of tasty food for everyone and there was a really lovely atmosphere. Our thanks to everyone who helped, either by providing food, baking cakes, setting up or clearing up.

We learned about Christian Aid week and how hard Fridah works to feed her family. We thought about seeds growing into plants and vegetables to feed us. We thought about being kind and helping others.

J Club

Today we thought about special people in our lives. We learned about St Francis and St Theresa of Calcutta and how they devoted their lives to animals and to people to show God’s love. We made ‘pipe cleaner prayers’ to help us focus our prayers. They included 100 for David Attenborough, a flower for nature, a heart for someone we love, a tangle for anyone who is struggling, a person for anyone who needs our prayers today.
