Our service at St Paul's this Sunday is a celebration of the church and is part of our programme for Heritage Open Days. Come along at 10, stay for refreshments and a talk on the history of the church.
There will be a service of Holy Communion at St Andrew's at 11am.

Saturday: at 12.30pm illustrated talk: the story of St Paul's; 1.45pm churchyard walk- see the graves of notable Manchester and Salford worthies including the Holt brewery family and founders of the church; 3pm illustrated talk on the history of the Moor
Sunday: 10am service of thanks for the life and work of the church; 12.30pm churchyard walk; 3pm Salford 100 anniversary talk- Salford 'firsts' and famous Salfordians

More than 70 people enjoyed the 'Say it with Flowers' event at St Paul's on 29 August. Our thanks go to Lorraine who gave a brilliant demonstration, to Pam and Paul and the kitchen team for a wonderful traditional afternoon tea (better than the Midland!), to Alan our 'maitre de' and members of the Events Team who ran the raffles and the tombola. Roll on the next event!

Yesterday we said good bye to Rev Hilary as she presided at her last service at St Andrew's before her retirement. Members of St Andrew's and St Paul's congregations, plus representatives of St Andrew's uniformed organisations, Grace Church International and the Deanery of Bury and Rossendale were present to bid her farewell. We enjoyed a very special service led by Hilary with a presentation to her followed by refreshments. We wish Hilary and Phil all the best in their new home and new parish, and look forward to seeing them both in the future. Here's Hilary with her cards and gifts, and the 'three wise monkeys' of the clergy team, now sadly down to two!

This Sunday 30 August is Rev Hilary Shedlock's last Sunday with us before her retirement. She will preside for the last time at a service of Holy Communion at St Andrew's at 11am. The service will be followed by a presentation and refreshments. There will be a short service of Morning Praise at St Paul's at 10am so that people can attend both services or come up to St Andrew's afterwards to say farewell.
We wish Hilary and Phil well in their retirement.
