Trinity 1 & 2 Sunday 7th and Sunday 14th June 2026

Dear all

A two week mailing this week as Penny is away from Saturday 6th - Saturday 13th. Any urgent issues please speak with the churchwardens, Angela and Alison.

Our two churchwardens are about to make their declarations. The visitation for our Deanery is on Thursday 18th June 7pm at St Enoder. Anyone who would like to come and support them both and would like a lift please let Sophia know.

Thank you to all who came to our Benefice activities and service last Sunday – both Bishops, David and James, participated in our service. All parishes in the Benefice were represented. A special thank you to those from our parish who were able to attend for the afternoon too.

Angela’s garden party was very well attended and raised £250 for St Mawes church. Penny has heard many compliments regarding Angela’s garden and the tea party. Thank you, Angela, for offering this.

Inn Group: The Inn group meets again for another 3 weeks of sessions starting on Wednesday 17th June (also the date of Deanery Synod at All Saints Highertown) at the Roseland Inn in Philleigh. Arrangements as previously – food available from 7pm, meeting starts 7.30pm. All welcome, if you have not been before please do come to experience it. Kay Robinson will email food choices to all previous attendees. If you would like to come for food and have not been before then email Kay – [email protected]

Thank you and happy retirement to Clive Johns. Clive Johns has been the gardener at St Just in Roseland churchyard for almost 30 years and at the end of April decided to retire. We thank Clive for all the work he has done over the years and behind the scenes in preparing the churchyard and church for events and festivals, weddings and funerals. He has been the friendly, welcoming face at the church and given countless talks and tours on the history of the churchyard. His knowledge and love of the place has always shone through. We will miss Clive and wish him a well- earned and happy retirement. A small gathering was held to thank Clive and to make a presentation to him.
