You may have noticed that the crosses went back on the church tower just after Easter. They haven't been displayed since March 2024 as we had to go through the process of obtaining the correct legal permission to display them. It took us a while to undertake the work to comply with the planning conditions. We now have permission to display them during Lent and Easter season and permission to display the poppy during November for Remembrance and the stars during Advent and Epiphany. The crosses were taken down at the end of last week as we have now celebrated Ascension and the Easter season draws to a close with Pentecost this coming Sunday.

Even though we got rained off from being outside, this year, we still had lots of fun. We used our craft to spread the Holy Spirit in true Messy Church style.

We also sang and used bubbles to send our prayers out into the world, as well as enjoying our usual yummy breakfast. (See comment for more photos)

Next Messy Church will be the 21st of June and we will be back as usual in the Church Hall.

As the field is very wet, Messy Church tomorrow will be in the Scout Hut. Please still use the church hall parking. We start at 9am with crafts, followed by worship and breakfast. All welcome.

The pictures are of cross made by Messy Church in February and March. We have enjoyed having it in church over the Easter season. It portrayed the beauty of God's world, the environmental issues caused by humans and the story of Holy Week with Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, with pictures of people at the top. On Easter Sunday the cross parted with the words "Alleluia! He is risen!" and flowers decorated by children and adults alike, showing that Jesus' death and resurrection was for all of us. Well done Messy Church for this great visual message.

Due to the Church shop, messy church will be outside on the Church field this Sunday 9am, instead of the usual hall.

Let's hope we get the same glorious weather as last year 🌞. If not we will be based in the scout hut, please check Facebook for updates in the morning.
