DEALING WITH SEASON OF ADVERSITY.
When you are in the cave of Adullam, let your lips not lack His word, praises, thanksgiving, and worship.
The circumstances surrounding you may seem overwhelming and distressing and there seems to be no hope of deliverance or breakthrough in view.
Still keep his words and worship on your lips.
As I study this man, David, I am lost in thoughts about how he handled difficult seasons on his path to his destiny despite setbacks or decline. From national prominence and being the personal assistant of a King with the anointing of the Lord and prophetic ordination of kingship upon his life to becoming a fugitive. From the palace to the cave!
To worsen the situation, instead of attracting the right connection to help him, he attracted those in a worse situation than him. All the distressed, indebted, and discontented were in his circle of influence and he became leader over them.
This does not look like a popular counsel of don't move with people in the same condition as you are or you are better off! The reverse was the case for David, the anointed of the Lord!
That is the mystery of the anointing. The person of the Holy Spirit, the anointing personified will always drive his chosen ones into the wilderness and the cave of Adullam for the necessary training. From Joseph, to Moses, to David, to Jesus Christ etc. The examples abound!
Faith requires that we trust the Lord when life does not make sense and when all that is happening around us contradicts the promises of the Lord to us.
Ensure the same promises [word] of God remain in your lips, worship overflows from your heart and is expressed through your lips.
At this season, you should spend most of your time when you are free with your Bible, brooding over the word of God because your greatest asset at this time is the VOICE OF GOD.
Divine Direction is your greatest weapon at this time not men's counsel except they are speaking by the Spirit.
His word will still your heart, and soul to be able to hear Him because a heart full of noise [anxiety and fear] will not distinguish the voice of God.
Obedience to the Lord's promptings will be your greatest strategy! Many times these instructions will not make sense and will be counterintuitive, but you must move swiftly in faith.
That is how faith, trust, and implicit confidence in the LORD and His WORD are cultivated and built. If you misinterpret his voice in the process, learn the lesson, realign immediately and continue to move.
Like any other critical skill, HEARING FROM GOD REQUIRES PRACTICE AND WE GET BETTER AT IT WITH USE. So, in this season, you must study the pattern God uses to communicate with your inner man.
A man or woman who hears from heaven has mastered the art of living and will ultimately become a wonder to his generation.
He does not move with the rhythm of his generations but follows the rhythm of the Spirit of God and as a result will always be found to be far ahead of his peers and contemporaries!
No circumstances or situation can swallow a man of His Presence, who is in constant communication with the LORD. As I continued to observe David, despite his predicament, he always inquired from the Lord as to the steps he was to take and this simple humility was the secret behind all the victories of all his war expeditions without losing a single battle.
I have lived through these principles in the last 20 years my beloved Dad exited this earthly scene untimely!
21st of June, 2026 will exactly be 20 years since I received the news at CHRIST THE KING COLLEGE, ONITSHA, Oguta Road, Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria, at my hostel when I was in the 5th year in Senior Secondary School [peneultimate year in High School], I was 17 years at the time.
He is FAITHFUL.
Therefore I have not written about old wives' fables or fairy tales.
BUT
"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life." ~1John 1:1
JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!
