The Pentecost Novena starts today. Let's pray for a fresh and mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit this Pentecost!

Invocation: Come, Holy Spirit upon the Jewish people Israel, the first to hear the Word of God and prepare them for the full realization of the “hope of Israel”. Bless our elder brother, the people of your covenant.

You are invited to the Upper Room (see website upperroom.tv) this coming Monday when our speaker will be Fiona Hendy visiting us all the way from Tanzania. For months we have spoken about Fiona as co-founder of Karibu Nyumbani, an orphanage she started from scratch and our chosen charity. Now we get a chance to hear the latest from Fiona herself. This is a great night to bring friends and our children (finishes between 9:30and 10pm) to hear this inspirational and spirit-filled lady speak.

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder that Upper Room is on tonight as usual. Our speaker is Scott Albrecht from the Catholic Worker Farm so we can expect to be inspired and maybe even challenged in our thinking. The farm is doing wonderful work supporting and accommodating homeless women and their children until they find their feet.

The farm is not funded by government and currently has basic needs such as:
toilet paper;
cleaning supplies such as sponges, sprays, gloves, dishwasher tablets and laundry detergent;
food, especially sugar, juice, milk, butter, cheese and cooking oil.
If you can spare any of this from your cupboard, please bring it along to our meeting as part of our donation.

Our meeting starts at 7.55pm in the parish hall of SS Alban and Stephen. Directions can be found on our website http://www.upperroom.tv/

Hi everyone, Upper Room is on tonight at 7.55pm in the parish centre at SS Alban and Stephen, Beaconsfield Road, St Albans AL1 3RB.

If you haven't yet seen the video that's currently going viral where Pope Francis encourages unity, come and join us as we will be showing it tonight.

Emily Baker will be leading us in an evening on Unity.

Note for the diary - 19 May Fiona Hendy is over from the orphanage in Tanzania and is speaking at Upper Room. Bring a friend, it too is going to be a wonderful night hearing about our charitable cause.
