What’s going on this week at the ABC.

☕️ 🥐 Coffee morning is back with Romey and Barbara 9.30-12pm ☕️ 🥐

🃏 🎲♟️Games afternoon is also back with myself (Victoria) 1.30pm-4.30pm.
Teas and coffee and cakes are being served 🎲♟️

Holy communion being led by Rev Anthony Gill.

10.30-11.30.

Refreshments served after.

A massive thank you to Ian, Ruth, Lisa, Kevin, Glenn and SJ for helping scrape nearly all of the paint off these extremely old chapel railings. It’s all in the preparation. Next is to wash it, then undercoat, then the exciting bit…. top coat! Can’t wait to see the end result.

Thank you champs.

Our village Baptist chapel is starting to shine once again.
It’s amazing to think these have been here since 1903.

As it is a church the metal didn’t have to be used to melt down in the war.

If railings could talk eh!

☕💚 Macmillan Coffee Morning at Ashdon Baptist Church 💚☕

We’re delighted to be holding our Macmillan Coffee Morning at Ashdon Baptist Church, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. 🌿

This year, I’ll be helping Sue Kidman, who has organised this wonderful coffee morning for many years. We’re so pleased to be continuing the tradition and bringing everyone together once again. ❤️

Come along for a cuppa, homemade cakes, good company and plenty of chatting — all while supporting such a wonderful cause.

If anyone is a cable to help me on Saturday morning at the Baptist church, I’m up there with a wire brush to hopefully get all the gold paint off the railings. Ready to paint in a few weeks. I’m happy to do it myself but would be lovely if some village volunteers came to help too if you’re not busy.
We are trying so hard to save this historic beautiful place for the village for years to come but I know we can’t do it by ourselves (4 people). As ever we are grateful for any help. The people who have helped so far are amazing.
We all have busy lives and our weekends are sacred but even for a hour would be blimming brilliant.

I’ll be there at 10am with my wire brush. Unfortunately I only have 2. So if you have one that would be utterly fabulous.

Let’s bring the outside railing to life again, and paint them black (at a later date).

Also weather depending.

Just a reminder. We have no groups this week as we are all having a much earned rest.
Coffee morning will be back next week 1st September at 9.30-12

Games afternoon will be back on Thursday afternoon 3rd September 1.30-4.

Also on Sunday 30th we have no service in the chapel.

Our next service is Sunday 6th September 10.30.

Thank you to everyone who came to the first Bible study this morning. It was wonderful to all share our thoughts.

This month it’s all about “Zacchaeus”.

Due to extreme heat tomorrow I’ve decided to cancel our Games Afternoon tomorrow (13th August).
Sorry to disappoint everyone who regularly come along.
Also next week it’ll not be open either as I will be in Tudor England 1553 for 5 days.
We will continue the popular games afternoon Thursday 27th August.
