Our guest preacher for the morning is Revd Luke Dowding. Among other roles, Luke is Chair of Trustees of Affirm, our Baptists Together network for LGBT+ Inclusion and the link below will tell you something of the work of Affirm.
Luke will also be preaching at our 3rd annual Pride Service on Sunday afternoon, at 4pm, and everyone is invited to come and join us.
And yes, there will be cake!

Sunday 29 March 2026 Palm Sunday
We gather together on Sunday morning for worship in our Chapel at 1030. Tracy and the band will be leading our sung worship, and John will be leading and preaching.
Our Lectionary reading is, or course, the account of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem at the beginning of the week that would change history. We will be reading the account found in Matthew 21:1-11 and we will be asking with the crowds that day, 'Who is this?'

Sunday 9 November 2025
Remembrance Sunday
We will gather together on Sunday morning at the earlier than usual time of 9.30am, for a short service of prayer and reflection for Remembrance Sunday. We will focus on prayers for peace and reconciliation.
Our short service will conclude at around 10am, by which time many of our local community will have begun to gather for the Civic Remembrance ceremony at the War Memorial at 11am. We will aim to offer hospitality and facilities to our community, and no doubt there will be quite a bit of coming and going in the building during our service. And that's all right... 🙂
Some of us will be joining the civic commemorations, parade, and service at St Mary's - not least our uniformed youth organisations. Please feel free to participate in whatever way is appropriate for you.

John is away preaching at
Thaxted United Reformed Church on Sunday.
(Don't forget, the following Sunday, 9 November, is Remembrance Sunday when our service is at the earlier time of 0930 and takes the form of a short service of Prayers and Reflections for Peace and Reconciliation.)

Sunday 26 October 2025
We gather again on Sunday morning at 1030 to worship together. Tracy and the band will be leading our sung worship, and John will be preaching.
Our baptistry will be open (as our friends from Renew Inclusive Church Cambridge are holding a baptismal service later in the day) and so we will be exploring a baptismal passage from Acts 8, the encounter of Philip and the Ethiopian.
A few practical notes... The baptistry will be open - don't fall in! There will be a temporary barrier of chairs placed around the pool so please don't move them. The heating is not yet repaired, but we do have a number of electric heaters that should mean it's not overly cold. But you might want to dress accordingly. And finally, the clocks go back that morning! Modern technology means it's easier than it used to be. Trust your phone. Never trust the clock on the oven... 🙂
