Last two years we have marked our respects to local heroes whilst in Belgium.

But this year due a house move we pay our respects to 3 local heroes buried in our local church Friezland Christchurch.

The first 2 have standard CWGC headstones, the other on a family memorial.

Gunner Alfred Brown died 1941 Royal Artilery Regement.

Private WH Silvester May 1916 Duke of Wellington (West Riding Regement)

Second Lieutenant John F Tanner February 1919
Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regement)

We did see a few other memorials to the fallen but these are the recorded 3.

Lest we Forget.

Today at 11 o'clock Belgian time we stood to remember a local lad, born in Delph and buried here in Dozingem Military Cemetery. There was nobody else here as we lowered our heads and observed the 2 minutes silence. Alfred Kenworthy, your sacrifice is not forgotten.
