Following the Celebrations on Palm Sunday, yesterday, when we marked the dedication of our beautifully re-ordered church in the presence of Bishop Gregory with a quarter peal attempt, we have now entered the Holy Week in quiet contemplation of the Paschal Triduum. There should be no church bells ringing during this reflective time and so the ringers at St Peters will not be holding their customary practice on Wednesday evening. The bells will next ring out in the glory of Easter morning at 10am on Sunday.

St Peter's in Ruthin managed to assemble a band of nine ringers on Christmas morning including our newest / youngest mrmber ringing at Christmas for the first time. Well done David! Additionally, three of our members were out on secondment to York, Lichfield and Essex(?) Did any of the other towers in our regional association NWACBR get close to that in numbers, we wonder?

Congratulations to the band of super pealers who were spectacularly successful in their peal at St Peters on Saturday A fitting way to celebrate the r-eawakening of our beautiful church in its re-ordered state.

The resident band will enjoy ringing to announce the services over Christmas, commencing 10.30 on Christmas Eve We'll be ringing out in glory to celebrate the birth of Jesus our saviour. Season's greetings to everyone and a very Happy Christmas to everyone

Listen out for a fine start to our Christmas bellringing at 11am on this coming Saturday as a group of six experienced and expert ringers from the region attempt a full peal to mark the Advent opening of St Peters Church following the re-ordering works.

A full peal lasts for around three hours and makes no allowance for any repetition The band includes husband and wife team Peter and Beverley Furniss, well-known, respected ringers of long standing.

The Furnisses played a big part, alongside our much loved Jenny Trigger, in the refurbishment of the Ruthin bells in 2019.

So here's a good excuse to relax for three hours with a hot drink from one of our fab Ruthin cafes in the busy run up to Christmas. Remember to wrap up warm and come and join the regular band who will be listening too! See you there!

Seven of our ringers from St Peters Church in Ruthin travelled to St Mary's Chirk today for some intensive training on the Bells there. The two sessions, made provision for enhancing the skills needed for Plain hunt and Bob doubles. Expertly organised and taught by husband and wife team, Beverley and Peter Furniss, the sessions were a great success and enjoyed by all. We were very lucky to be able to use the bell tower's computerised simulator which meant that we could ring to our collective hearts' content without disturbing the neighbours! Many, many thanks to Peter and Beverley for a great day in the Chirk Bell tower and also to their fab team of experts who gave so much of their time to support our learning. THANKS EVERYBODY!
