Our cafe is open again on Wed 26 August from 10am - 12pm. Come visit us at Rutherglen United Reformed Church, 69 Johnstone Drive, Rutherglen. This is the friendliest cafe I know! If you've not been before please drop in and join us. Drinks and cakes are all free, although if you can we welcome donations.

📢 Rutherglen 900 Public Meeting

Join us to learn more about the restoration of Overtoun Park Bandstand and help shape exciting opportunities for the park’s future.

📅 Saturday 29 August 2026
🕚 Start: 11am
📍 Overtoun Park Bowling Club

The restoration is due to be completed in October as part of the Rutherglen 900 celebrations. Elaine Melrose and Lorna Carmichael from will share more about the Bandstand’s design, restoration and future potential.

We’ll also explore the possibility of re-establishing a Friends of Overtoun Park group to help support the park’s future.

The United Reformed Church is deeply saddened by the death of Professor Jason Arday, who was found unresponsive at an address in London yesterday.
The Revd Neil Thorogood, Moderator of the URC General Assembly, says: “Congregations across the URC will be holding the family and friends of Jason Arday in our hearts and prayers ... His all too brief life was an inspiration in so many ways, even as recent events begged so many questions and leave so much to face now."

Over the next three weeks, exam results will be released across the UK. These days are approached with trepidation and produce both profound joy and disappointment. Our Community Cafe is back at Rutherglen United Reformed Church, Johnstone Drive.This time we are delighted that young people from The M Factor will be hosting the event.
