St Marys Church Rushden A lively welcoming church in the centre of Rushden which seeks to make the good news of Jesus known with a variety of worship styles.

St Mary’s is a place where everyone is welcome. We are a church of people of all ages and backgrounds, with a desire to know Jesus, to grow in our faith, and to serve our local community of Rushden. Services are on Sundays @ 10am in the Church and 10:30am in the Hall and Thursdays @ 10:30am. We also meet in small groups to encourage each other throughout the week.

This week is Volunteers' Week, and our Church wouldn't function without our amazing volunteers!

From teaching at Lighthouse Sunday School and leading services, to the welcome team who greet you when coming to church, to serving tea and coffee and serving cakes/biscuits, to setting up the tables and chairs, and also reading and praying at services. Also the volunteers who help in the office, to setting up flowers displays, and our faithful choir, also our Church Warden and operating the sound desk/computer for services, these dedicated individuals give up their time to help the church run smoothly.

To all our volunteers and helpers: Thank you for all that you do. We simply couldn't do it without you! 🙌

Everyone really enjoyed the flower crafts today as part of the crafts and coffee/tea group.

We made Pom Pom flowers with pipe cleaners and also beaded and button flowers with wire into little pots.

Thank you so much to the ladies who organise the crafts every week.

The Guild AGM is on Saturday 13th June. It is being hosted by the Wellingborough branch. There is ringing at Bozeat, Easton Maudit and Rushden from 2:30, then ringing at Irchester from 3:30. This is followed by service and tea, with the meeting starting at 6pm.

Today in Lighthouse Sunday School we learnt about how Peter and John healed a lame man in the temple, Peter preached to the crowd of people who had gathered to see what had happened. In response, the religious leaders placed Peter and John in jail. The next day Peter and John were questioned by the religious leaders (the Sanhedrin) and asked by what authority they were preaching and healing. Peter boldly declared that they did what they did in Jesus’ name and that He is the only way to salvation.

We did maze puzzles to lead Peter and John to the lame man, and we made clay faces
