Today we said gave thanks for and said goodbye to our dear friend and colleague, Rev’d Canon Simon Chesters who had been our Director of Ministry and previously Vicar at St John’s Weston. Please do pray for his family and all who knew and loved him.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God,
rest in peace and rise in glory.
Amen.

A prayer

God grant to those walking in darkness
a light for their path.
To those riven with grief
comfort.
To those damaged in relationships
a healing love.
To those overwhelmed with busyness
a quietened mind.
To those wracked with guilt
an assurance of acceptance and peace.
To those anxious of the unknown
a calmed spirit.
To those perplexed with a chaotic world
a confidence in the future.
And to those thinking, ‘I’m not worth it’ - hope.
Amen.

A huge congratulations to everyone at St. Andrews Church Grange, Runcorn who recently completed Autism Ally Training with Caroline and Kath.

It was a brilliant session full of thoughtful conversations about autism, practical, reasonable adjustments and how churches can become more welcoming places for autistic people.

Some of the feedback really speaks for itself:

"Do it. This is the best autism and neurodiversity training I have done."

"Fabulous. Clear. Helpful. Changing society one training session at a time!"

"It's always different to be educated through lived experience. It's always more impactful."

We also loved hearing about the changes people are already planning to make, including:

"Encourage screens in our church. Train our clergy with immediate action."

"Think about flooring in churches."

"Visual timelines as part of our regular service."

"Ask people how we can make them feel welcome."

This is exactly what Autism Ally is all about. Small, meaningful changes that help autistic people feel understood, included and valued.

Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund , this training is completely free for organisations across Cheshire, Warrington and Halton.
