Friday : Warm Welcome 10.00 a.m. - 2.30 p.m. . Coffee/tea, chat, craft , games, and lots more. Light lunches available at 12.15 (free of charge). Donations welcome

Thank you to Captain Emily for conducting our meeting this morning. Her theme was 'Back to School'. In Sunday School the children heard about King Ahab and King Jehoshaphat and they enjoyed making crowns.
During the meeting we said 'bye' to one of our young people Aimee (although she isn't moving for a couple of weeks) who is off to Southampton university to study music. Captain Emily gave her a gift and card from the corps folk.
We have watched Aimee grow up to be a fine young lady who plays in the band, is part of the singing group (which she conducts occasionally), helps out at Sunday School and toddler group and so much more. We will miss her but she will be back !
Keep Aimee in your prayers and her mum, dad and Ethan, who will miss her so much (as will we all)

Thank you to Captain Dean for conducting our meeting this morning. His theme of the meeting being 'Persistent Prayers' based on Nehemiah 2 : 1-8.
The band played 'Come now is the time to worship' . It is lovely seeing more people joining the band !
After the service we enjoyed fellowship with tea/coffee/cake

During the pandemic, whilst we weren't able to meet in person CSM started online prayers on a Saturday morning. This has continued and has been a lovely time of prayer. Twelve people joined this morning and shared prayers - personal, prayers for our world, our country, our worship, our corps folk and so much more.
This is a lovely start to our weekend.

Thank you to Captain Emily for such a lovely meeting this morning. Her topic was 'Don't worry', based on Matthew 6 : 27-37.
We were given a stone and were asked to go to the front and lay our stones on the mercy seat, to take our worries and troubles to God. We were also asked to take a card that was on the mercy seat, words that were appropriate to us. The one I chose was.. 'When anxiety was great within me. Your consolation brought me joy'....This was such a lovely moving moment.
We all worry - some more than others - but we leave them now with God.

47 at 'warm welcome' today, which was very warm! A lovely atmosphere.
Lovely to see children there too enjoying making craft and playing board games.

Busy morning cleaning the toddler toys ready for September. Hard work, but fun and we had tea and cake to help.

Thank you to Major Kevin for conducting our meeting this morning. His topic was 'How many for tea' - based on John 6 : 1-14, 'The Feeding of the Five Thousand'. The songs we sang were 'To God Be the Glory', 'Light of the World', 'How Great thou art', 'The Splendour of the King' (which is my (Gill's) favourite and has been an 'ear worm' since this morning) and 'Simply Trusting'.
The band played 'Faithful God'.
We enjoyed fellowship after the service with tea/coffee/cake.

Another busy day at 'warm welcome' - over 40. Although we are not doing hot food in August, people brought their own sandwiches. There were lots of cakes too, to enjoy. People love coming along, meeting with friends, chatting, doing the jigsaws, crafting, knitting, and so much more. Three children joined us today.
A lovely atmosphere.
