It was a pleasure to host the Centenary Project children, youth and families ministers from across the Diocese of Sheffield for their first monthly 'Network' gathering of the new term at St. Lawrence in Tinsley yesterday. Rev. Eddie led a short communion service to mark the beginning of the academic year before Elise Deput, the Diocese's Church in Schools Enabler, provided ideas and support for engaging with local schools.

This week we are live streaming from St. Lawrence’s, Tinsley for our (Assembly) Bangers and Blessings service. We will conclude our series Jesus 1-2-1, exploring one to one encounters that different people had with Jesus in the gospels. Today we will be hearing about a religious leader who came to see Jesus under the cover of darkness, and to whom Jesus spoke what is probably the most well known passage of his teaching.

🚨🚨Due to the weather forecast our 3.30pm Bangers and Blessings service will take place at St Lawrence’s NOT St Andrew’s as originally planned. 🚨🚨

We look forward to see you at St Lawrence’s at 3.30pm to sing Assembly bangers, pray blessings over all those returning to school, college, uni or another place of learning, either for education or work. Then celebrating with BBQ food.

Today we continue our summer series of joint services, meeting in different locations and times each week. The pattern of services is included in our notices and on our social media platforms. This week we are live streaming from St. Lawrence’s, Tinsley. Our summer theme is Jesus 1-2-1 and we will be exploring one to one encounters different people had with Jesus in the gospels. Last Sunday we had a wonderful start to our summer season in the Rivers Team at St Lawrence!

Throughout the summer we’ll be exploring some of the life-changing one-to-one encounters people had with Jesus in the Gospels. This week, Laura helped us explore the story of the rich young ruler, who asked Jesus, “What good thing must I do to get eternal life?” The children also led us in a new song, and we gathered together as one church family around the Lord’s Table to share in Holy Communion.

This Sunday we’ll be meeting at St Mary’s, Catcliffe, at 5.00pm as we explore Jesus’ encounter with the woman at the well. We’ll again celebrate Holy Communion together, and afterwards everyone is warmly invited to stay for a shared meal.

Please note that there will be no morning service at St Lawrence this Sunday. If you usually worship in Tinsley, we’d love you to join us at St Mary’s if you’re able. For anyone who can’t be there in person, the service will be livestreamed here on Facebook.
