What an incredible time our team had in Albania this last week. It's always a blessing to see what God is doing in the nations and how we can be a blessing to those in the field. The team got the opportunity to help with some of the building renovations which are being doing on the new camp centre for Spark Ministrys with their incredible leader Rachel who has been working in Albania for over 25 years. The team got involved in some of the kids ministry they run out there, as well as getting to minister in the local church and meet with some of the team out there. The main focus of the trip was in Lac, Lezhë and in Shengjin.

A powerful message last Sunday from Pastor Hannah Prosser highlighting the danger of believing the wrong gospel. Talking about the importance of not believing the gospel of cheap grace where we neglect the importance of being obedient to God and focuses only on the forgiveness side of it. Then also not going to the other extreme of legalism and believing that we can work our way into heaven by doing certain things and obeying old testament laws, focusing more on being a good person can save you.

The key question to think on this week is what gospel are you living by? Underneath everything it is by grace we are saved, that the cross was enough to save us from our sins and nothing we can do can earn our salvation but through that gift we should be working through grace to be more Christ like in our everyday walk with the Lord.

On Sunday, Angela shared with us on the theme of ‘relationships and commitment’, and how the deepest and most important relationship you can ever have is with the Lord.

What does commitment in our relationship to God look like?
* Reading your Bible daily
* Praying continually
* Being rooted in your Church

Challenge: Are you treating the Lord better than your earthly master?
Do you attend Church regularly, on time being respectful to those around you and serving Him as you engage in fellowship?

Obedience and commitment are important because:
* Jesus calls us to obey
* Obedience is an act of worship
* God rewards obedience
* Obedience proves our love to God
* Obedience to God demonstrates faith
* Obedience is better than sacrifice
Disobedience leads to sin and death

Psalm 119 : 1 - 8

If we choose the ways of this world rather than Jesus, then our actions and thoughts will lead us to condemnation and death. But if we follow Jesus and believe in his Word, then we will experience eternal life in relationship with God.

Pastor Paul brought us a challenging message last Sunday on the importance of guarding our hearts. Our hearts shape the whole direction of our lives and just as physical heart issues need urgent attention, spiritual heart health matters daily. Paul referenced the story of Solomon, highlighting the fact he didn't fall overnight; it was a gradual compromise and disobedience that turned his heart from the Lord.

Some challenges for everyone to dwell on this week:

- What's taking priority over God in my life right now?
- Is there anyone I need to forgive fully?
- What's been flowing out of my mouth lately, is it life or death?
- Am I making time for God and his Word?

Have a blessed week and cannot wait to see you all this Sunday 3pm at Liberty Church!

On Sunday, our guest speaker John Butcher took us through Acts 8:26-39.

His life was transformed aged 12 and he was filled with the Spirit at 13.
He went through some hard experiences and was from an insignificant start in life, but God had always come through.

A Biblical example is Philip who started on tables and finished being used in some of the most amazing stories in the Bible.

- Don’t look down on the small things in your life.
- If God can use me, God can use any one of us!

Philip learned how to speak to crowds and individuals, as well as to the poor and the rich.
- God wants to breakthrough in your life and use you for his glory.

On Sunday we looked at the story of Moses in Exodus chapters 3 and 4, where fear causes him to try and persuade God that he’s not good enough for the role he’s been chosen for, and that maybe God could pick someone else.

How this applies to us:

- God doesn’t get it wrong, he calls you because he chose to! (We must accept that God’s choice!)
- Situations can appear to go wrong after you first step out but don’t give up.
- The word of God often has resistance (pharaoh didn’t listen!) Do we still believe it even when we can’t see it? Or does fear take over?

God kept demonstrating his power and Moses and Aaron had to keep going back to pharaoh even when the people couldn’t see God’s hand in the process.

* When God has spoken, he has spoken!
* Recognise you are already in the story; when things get worse, we have to face it and go through it!
* Refuse the compromises
* Remember WHY you were called out

The Israelites were not just called out FROM Egypt for freedom, they were called TO a new land and new purpose.

Don’t give into FEAR - When God picks you He equips you and sends you!

Are you living as someone who has been freed for a purpose or just as one who has been freed from Egypt?

What a word from Pastor Anthony this week 🙌 speaking to us on John 1 and Genesis 1, comparing the fact that God is eternal being both forever in the past and forever in the future whereas humans are only immortal with a forever future only.

When God speaks he only ever created order and purpose, never chaos. He highlights that our words are important and no speech is ever truly free as everything we say and do has consequences. We should not gossip as the words shared can cause destruction to a life or even the church.

In closing he encourages us to:
- Create light in our own soul through worship
- To speak light into the world around us
- To redirect gossip and not participate in it
- Speak blessings over others
- Watch our words and focus on making order not chaos

What a Word we received from Pastor Paul this Sunday, talking on Romans 12 and the power of renewing our minds. He highlighted how almost everything we do originates in the mind and how the Devil will specifically target our minds to put a separation between us and God.

The process of mind renewal:

- We must die to old thought patterns
- Expose how minds to the truth of the Bible
- Bring every thought captive

4 weapons we can use for spiritual warfare:

- The Word of God
- Praise and Worship
- Prayer
- The Holy Spirit

Here are some practical steps Paul gave to take thoughts captive:

- Recognise the wrong thought as it enters your mind
- Shift your attention to the Word, prayer, or praise and worship
- Speak to yourself and actively chose to reject those thoughts
- Set your mind on things above
