A simple yet profound message from Pastor Stephen this Sunday talking about the difference between God is Love and Love is God. We should not allow our emotional definition of love to allow us to define God's character but instead use God's character to help us craft our understanding of love. Love is a verb not a feeling, God decided to send his son to die for us before creation. This shows true Agape love which is unconditional and not dependent on if we love him back.

Some challenges for this week:

1. Measure God's love by truth, not emotion - don't let life's circumstances determine whether you feel God is for you.

2. Love with Agape love not just Phileo - the Holy Spirit helps us to love even when we find it difficult.

3. Become visible proof of an invisible God

What a word from Pastor Stephen Prosser this Sunday, looking at the story of David and Goliath from a completely different angle. Focusing on the fact that sometimes God allows you to face battles where you don't possess the natural tools to win. Enforcing our reliance on God.

David used Galiath's sword to finish the job which later became his "souvenir" that reminded him of his greatest victory in one of his darkest times. What's your Souvenir for what God has done for you in your darkest times?

God doesn't waste our wilderness seasons; the tools, endurance and relationships forged in these seasons are there to then help you fulfil the calling God has given you in the future. As when David Was running from Saul and then later his own son.

The people from Gath who were once David's enemies became his greatest allies, so never let the devil tell you that you are a second-class citizen of heaven dispite your past.

What the enemy uses to intimidate you, God turns into your testimony.

What is the weapon the enemy meant to destroy you with which God wants to use at your testimony?

Continuing our study of Romans 6: 1-14,
This week we looked at practical ways of dying to sin and renewing our minds

1. We must crucify our old nature

“And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Gal‬ ‭5‬:‭24‬ ‭

Temptation gets its POWER by convincing you that you will be happier than you currently are.
- Stop making excuses
- Lay it before God
- Don’t expect others to do it for you

2. We must walk by the spirit

“For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” Gal‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ ‭

- Spend time with God in his presence

3. Present our bodies as a living sacrifice

“Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.” Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭13‬ ‭

- do I walk away from the things that influence me?

4. Let your mind be renewed by the spirit

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
‭‭Phil‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭

- Your mind doesn’t naturally think like Christ

If you subject yourself daily to Christ, you will no longer be subject to the power of Sin!
