5. Keys to the River of God — Ezekiel 47
1. The River Starts in the Presence of God
“Water was coming out from under the threshold of the temple…” — Ezekiel 47:1
The river didn’t originate in the community—it came from the presence and dwelling place of God.
Revival begins when God’s people return to His presence: prayer, worship, repentance and a hunger for God.
Key: We don’t manufacture the river; we position ourselves where the river flows.
2. Go Deeper — Don’t Stay at the Ankles
Ezekiel 47:3–5 describes four levels: ankle-deep, knee-deep, waist-deep, and waters to swim in.
There is an invitation to move from simply visiting God’s presence to being completely immersed in Him.
* Ankles — beginning to move
* Knees — a place of prayer and surrender
* Waist — increasing depth and dependence
* Swimming — no longer controlling the river; the river carries you

Revival requires a people willing to go deeper.
3. Let the River Flow Out to the Community
The river didn’t remain inside the temple. It flowed outward and brought life wherever it went.
“Where the river flows everything will live.” — Ezekiel 47:9
This is crucial for revival. The presence of God isn’t just for us—it is meant to flow through us to others.
Our churches, homes, streets, workplaces and communities should encounter something of the life of God because His people are carrying the river.
Key: We are not meant to be reservoirs; we are meant to be rivers.
4. Where the River Goes, Life and Healing Come
Ezekiel says the waters make the dead waters fresh, and there are “very many fish” because the river brings life.
Then we see trees whose fruit remains and whose leaves are for healing.
That’s the picture of genuine revival:
Death → Life
Dryness → Refreshing
Brokenness → Healing
Barrenness → Fruitfulness
Few → Many
For our community, we can pray:
“Lord, let Your river flow from Your presence, through Your Church, into our community—and everywhere the river flows, let there be life.”
🔥 A simple revival declaration
“We want the river of God to flow.
We will go deeper.
We will carry His presence.
We will take the river beyond the walls of the church.
And where the river flows, we believe our community will come alive.”
Ezekiel 47:9 — “Everything will live where the river goes.”
5. LIFE — Encounter the Presence of God
Ezekiel 47:9: “Where the river flows everything will live.”
The river represents the life of God flowing into places that have become dry, dead or barren.
Revival begins with encounter. We need more than information about God—we need the manifest presence of God.
