Lord Saniswara Worship & Offerings

Purattasi Sani refers to the four Saturdays in the Tamil month of Purattasi, which are considered highly auspicious for worshipping Lord Saniswara (Lord Saturn).
On these sacred days, devotees may offer their prayers and receive the blessings of Lord Saniswara by lighting the special Ellu Villaku (Sesame Lamp).

🔶A small bundle (pottalam) made of black sesame seeds wrapped in black cloth, placed in pure gingerly (sesame) oil.

🔶The black wick symbolizes the darkness and ignorance in one’s life.

🔶By lighting the lamp, devotees seek to dispel ignorance and invite the divine blessings of Lord Saniswara.

Blessings of Lord Saniswara is believed to bless devotees who are suffering from:
