CofE Diocese of Rochester We are the Church of England in the areas of Medway, north west Kent and the London Boroughs of Bromley and Bexley. Be respectful. Be kind. Be honest. Thank you.

A diverse and vibrant community of faith, we are Called Together to change, serve and grow as we seek first the Kingdom of God. HOW TO ENGAGE WITH OUR PAGE

This page is for anyone who is interested in keeping up to date with the work and mission of Rochester Diocese. By engaging with our social media accounts, you agree to:

Be safe. The safety of children, young people and vulnerable adults must

be maintained. If you have any concerns, ask a diocesan safeguarding adviser. Do not post or share content that is sexually explicit, inflammatory, hateful, abusive, threatening or otherwise disrespectful. Treat others how you would wish to be treated and assume the best in people. If you have a criticism or critique to make, consider not just whether you would say it in person, but the tone you would use. Don’t mislead people about who you are. Take responsibility. You are accountable for the things you do, say and write. Text and images shared can be public and permanent, even with privacy settings in place. If you’re not sure, don’t post it. Be a good ambassador. Personal and professional life can easily become blurred online so think before you post. Disagree well. Some conversations can be places of robust disagreement and it’s important we apply our values in the way we express them. Credit others. Acknowledge the work of others. Respect copyright and always credit where it is due. Be careful not to release sensitive or confidential information and always question the source of any content you are considering amplifying. Follow the rules. Abide by the terms and conditions of the various social media platforms themselves. If you see a comment that you believe breaks their policies, then please report it to the respective company. The Diocese of Rochester Communications teams may take action if they receive complaints or spot inappropriate, unsuitable or offensive material posted to their social media accounts. This may include deleting comments, blocking users or reporting comments as appropriate.

Rural ministry in the Diocese of Rochester in action!

Not everyone gets to bless a new dairy cow shed, but the Rev Hannah Glover, Curate at St. George's Church Weald, did just that.

Welcoming the cows to their new barn - the first of three - the new buildings at Westwood Farm, Weald have 'cow comfort' in mind, with much better ventilation and significant investment in bedding.

The four generations of Hamlyns at the farm agree Hannah did a moo-vellous job!

On Saturday (30 May), the Diocesan Prayer Festival took place. Over 150 people came to explore new and different ways to pray, from walking labyrinths and praying with their senses, to praying with dreams and pilgrimage.

The theme for the day was Prayer is the Heart of Mission, because by nurturing our relationship with God through prayer, we are better equipped to live out God's call in our lives and with others.

Couldn't be there? The Diocesan Prayer Pack Book is available, sharing 12 ways to pray for you to try and explore.

It’s Volunteers’ Week! A huge shout out to the many individuals who give their time, energy, and care to support churches and communities across the Diocese. From leading services and organising events to offering practical help behind the scenes, you make daily parish life possible and help our communities flourish.

Bishop Simon Burton-Jones, the Bishop of Tonbridge, says, “I want to express my admiration, gratitude, and respect for all those who volunteer in churches and in the wider community. I am often in awe when I hear what people do in church: the loving kindness, the professionalism, the hard grind of working when you could be resting. Volunteering shows the love within your soul, and it reflects the light of the God who volunteered to rescue a world that could not rescue itself. Thank you and Happy Volunteers’ Week!”

Want to thank your volunteers? Let us know in the comments below or tag us in any posts.
