Hoo St Werburgh Parish Church will be opening for the national Heritage Open Days scheme on Saturday 12th September from 10am to 4pm. There will be church history displays, self-guided tours, a bell ringing demonstration and refreshments. Everyone is very welcome to visit.

A lovely moment of unity as English and French players share as Christians in prayer together after their World Cup match. What a great example of shared values transcending differences.

🤝❤️ THEY GOT IT ALL!

After the final whistle of the third-place match between England and France, one of the most moving images of this World Cup took place.

Far from the celebrations and frustration, players from both teams gathered in the center of the field to embrace and pray together, reminding us that there are things much bigger than the outcome of a game.

Bukayo Saka, Marc Guéhi, and Trevoh Chalobah, freshly crowned with the bronze medal, walked straight over to their French friends Castello Lukeba, Dayot Upamecano, and Jean-Philippe Mateta to share that moment of unity.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to the St Werburgh summer fair this morning. It was a pleasure to welcome so many people to the church. There was lots of fun, great music from the Ukulele Band, as well as a lovely selection of stalls - plus visits from a matador and a magnificent parrot!

Update: We raised over £900 for church funds which will go towards much needed maintenance and enabling us to continue to run activities for the whole community.

We're looking forward to the St Werburgh Summer Fair on Saturday 18th July.

In addition to a great variety of stalls, including a lot of new ones, there will be a Ukelele band entertaining us from 10.30am and activities for the young (or young at heart!).

Refeshments will be available througout.
Everyone is welcome.
Free entry.

Our annual summer fair is on Saturday July 18th from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

We're offering the opportunity to have stalls inside or outside this time, so we have some spaces available. If you'd like to have a stall, please email [email protected] by the end of the month.

There will be entertainment from a ukelele band, activity stalls for young people, and refreshments as well as a variety of stalls 😊
