St Matthew’s Borstal will be joining Rochester Cathedral for the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services.
We’d love you to come along and share in this sacred journey through Holy Week.
Full service times are in the attachment.

Maundy Thursday marks a deeply significant moment in the Christian story.
Jesus shares the Passover meal with His disciples, which becomes the Last Supper. During it, He washes their feet as a sign of humble service and institutes the meal we know as Holy Communion. He also gives them a new commandment—to love one another—echoed in the term Maundy, from the Latin Mandatum, meaning “command.

After the meal, they sing together and walk to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prays in anguish. There, Judas arrives with soldiers, and Jesus is betrayed, arrested, and taken away to face judgement. As night closes in, the events are set in motion that will lead to the sorrow, suffering, and mystery of Good Friday.

All are welcome to join us for our Holy Week services. Find out more on our website: www.rochestercathedral.org/easter
