Led by our Head Gardener, Graham Huckstepp, this relaxed and informative walk will explore the Cathedral gardens in their summer bloom, uncovering highlights, hidden corners, planting inspiration, and the stories behind these historic green spaces.

Picture - Peter "I have found that Volunteering as a Visitor Hospitality Volunteer has been an excellent way to make new friends and meet so many people of different backgrounds, ages and nationalities. It is always a pleasure to show-off our wonderful building and to see the obvious pleasure that it brings to everybody who comes in."

Picture 1 - Meet Annette, one of our longest serving Volunteers:
"I have now been a Volunteer 40 years - made it!!!!!!! I am a Steward, Chalice Assistant, Reader, Intercessor, Anna Friend, part of the Pastoral Care Team and I take Home Communions. I am motivated by the knowledge that I am serving God and have the opportunity to welcome visitors to the Cathedral and tell them of his love for them all, and to help them where possible."

"I have only been volunteering for a short while but I really enjoy it. It is interesting and rewarding and no two days are the same. One visitor thanked me for giving up my time and I told her that I leave at the end of my shift feeling I’ve made a difference. Volunteering at the Cathedral is like an extension of my family, everyone is so friendly, helpful and welcoming. If you have a few hours to spare, I can definitely recommend it."
