Why I volunteer...

"Volunteering here has given me confidence and a real sense of purpose"

Every volunteer has their own reason for joining, but many stay because of the friendships, the atmosphere, and the joy of being part of the Cathedral family.

Picture 1 - Our Tuesday team. "We enjoy being together and meeting visitors. Talking together, we can learn new things and expand our knowledge."

Picture 2 - Our Events Host team. "Being part of this team is so rewarding. We meet and welcome thousands of guests into the Cathedral each year, many of whom have never been in the Cathedral before, to enjoy a diverse range of musical concerts."

We're always happy to welcome new faces - come and be part of our community

Have you ever wondered what a typical day looks like for one of our volunteers? From greeting visitors to sharing stories about the Cathedral, every day is a little different - but always rewarding. It's a chance to meet new people, learn something new, and be part of a special community.

Pictured is our lovely Thursday morning team who said "After chatting to visitors, we receive such lovely comments about how much they love this place. It is a comfortable building to be in and feels like you get a big hug as you walk through the door."
