Palm Sunday Reflection - Holy Week Invitation
We have walked today with joy. We have waved our palms, sung our songs, and joined the crowds who welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem.
"Hosanna!" they cried.
"Blessed be the King!"
But we know something the crowd did not yet understand. The road Jesus entered that day was not a road to a throne of power, but a road to a cross.
The same voices that shouted Hosanna would soon fall silent. Some would even turn away. So today is not just a celebration, it is an invitation.
An invitation to walk with Jesus not only in the moments of joy, but in the moments that follow.
Through the table....
through the garden...
through the cross.
Holy Week invites us to slow down, to pay attention, to stay close to Jesus. To watch, To pray, To listen. Because this is the week where we see most clearly what the love of God really looks like.
Not distant.
Not abstract.
But costly.
Faithful.
Given for us.
So the question is simple:
Will we follow? Not just today, but this week.
Will we make space to walk with him, even when the path is difficult?
Because if we do, we will not only see the cross...
we will also be ready for the joy of the resurrection.
Amen
Our church building will be open this week on Tuesday 31 March and Wednesday 1 April, 10am to 2pm. Please come in, light a candle, sit, reflect and pray.
