Children and Young People Encouraging the development of good quality work with children and young people by churches across Rochester Diocese.

Rochester Diocese currently has two Children and Youth Ministry & Mission Advisers - Cheryl Trice (CYP Team lead) and Laura Webster (youth and children for Bromley and Bexley Archdeaconry). Both can be contacted by phone 01634 560000 or by email:

Both Cheryl and Laura can support parish churches in five key ways:

1) Resou

rces, Advice and Guidance:
Develop, offer and share high quality guidance on specific children's and youth work issues.

2) Participation:
They encourage the participation of children and young people in the life of parishes, the Diocese and the wider Church of England, enabling them to influence decision-making and initiate positive change in their churches, local communities and the wider world.

3) Training and Development:
They develop, offer and deliver a training programme for parishes in Rochester Diocese, which is responsive and encouraging as well as innovative and inspirational.

4) Communication:
Keep people across Rochester Diocese up to date about children and youth work via a range of media.

Catalyst Training - places are now open for people to attend this course that will start in September 2026, which is a mixture of online and face to face learning, with a couple of weekends including a graduation.

Free and fully funded by the Church of England, Catalyst is a dynamic training course which aims to equip and connect those who work with children and young people in the local church.

FREE Mental Health First Aid Training.

23rd and 24th June, 9 - 5pm at the Diocesan Office, St Nicholas Church, Rochester.

The course would normally cost you at least £300 per person. You will receive accreditation by MHFA England which will last for 3 years.
