Gaza: The Ummah’s Awakening

Gaza has shaken the world. Beyond the devastation and suffering, it has awakened consciences, challenged long-held narratives and forced Muslims to reflect on Palestine, our history and our responsibility towards the Ummah.

Saturday, 17th October 2026, Neeli Masjid invites you to a powerful evening with Omer Hussein, host of The Narrative House podcast, khateeb and speaker.

As the son of a Nakba survivor, Omer brings a deeply personal perspective to Palestine’s story — exploring its history, the reality of the present, and what Gaza has revealed about the world around us.

Join us for an important discussion on how this moment can become more than temporary outrage — and instead serve as a catalyst to educate, organise and mobilise our communities.

All welcome.

📚 100 Years of Palestinian Suffering — How Did We Get Here?

History matters. Not simply to remember the past, but to understand the present.

Saturday, 10th October 2026, Neeli Masjid invites you to an important evening exploring the history of Israel-Palestine through the lens of Ilan Pappé’s "A Very Short History of Israel-Palestine Conflict".

The book provides a concise introduction to a complex and deeply contested history, covering the rise of Zionism, the Nakba of 1948, the displacement of Palestinians, the occupation, and the continuing struggle surrounding Palestinian rights and freedom.
