🎒📚 A Prayer for a New School Year ✏️🍎

As children and young people begin to return to school, we hold them in our prayers.

🙏 Loving God,

Be with all our children and young people as they begin a new school year.

For those starting school for the very first time, calm their nerves and fill them with excitement and wonder.

For those moving into a new class or a new school, help them to make friends, grow in confidence and discover new things.

Bless their teachers, teaching assistants and everyone who works to make our schools happy, safe and welcoming places.

May every child know that they are valued, loved and wonderfully made, and may they have the courage to be themselves, the kindness to look out for others and the curiosity to keep learning.

Walk beside them through every new adventure this school year.

Amen. 🌈

☕🥓 Breakfast and community this morning!

Our Superintendent Minister and our Circuit Steward enjoyed breakfast this morning at Finghall Village Hall – and what a lovely opportunity to see our new community partnership in action.

The Village Hall Community Project is working in partnership with the Managing Trustees of Finghall Methodist Chapel, bringing church and community together and finding new ways of using our buildings and sharing in village life.

It was great to enjoy good food, good conversation and to support something that is very much about “working together for the community.” 💙

We look forward to seeing how this partnership continues to grow and flourish. 🙏

Lord Jesus,
bless every classroom,
every playground,
every teacher,
every member of staff,
every child and every family.

May schools be places of kindness, learning and hope.

For those worshipping at home this Sunday, our latest Worship at Home service is available to read and share via the link below.

This week’s service invites us to “get ready” to meet with God, listen to God’s Word, explore God’s message and pray for ourselves and our world.

Drawing on readings from Exodus 12 and Matthew 18, we are encouraged to reflect on freedom, change and our calling to follow God into new hope.

A warm welcome awaits you this Sunday! Whether you’re a regular worshipper, returning after some time away, or simply looking for a place to explore faith, we’d love to welcome you.

There are a variety of services taking place across the Mission Area, including Church Family Celebrations, Café Style Worship, Holy Communion, a United Service, and evening worship.
