As we enter our 150th year, we need to hear your views about Christ the Consoler. Click on the link, it's anonymous, and will help us make things even better.

We will also be using the results as part of our fundraising, as grant providers love to see how passionate and engaged people are about the places they are going to fund. Therefore we need as many people to complete it as possible - spread the word!

On Sunday 7th June at 4pm, we are delighted to host this year’s Holy Eucharist with Baptism and Confirmation Service for all fourteen churches between Kirby Hill and Green Hammerton. It has been over 50 years since we have had the pleasure of welcoming a Bishop of Ripon to Christ the Consoler! Rt Rev Anna Eltringham will be presiding and preaching at the service.
Everyone is welcome to join this special occasion, please come to support the candidates and Christ the Consoler. The service will be followed by refreshments.

We are so lucky to have such an amazing nursery in our village. When they are out and about they often drop into Christ the Consoler as the children love the beautiful building especially the stained glass windows and the brilliant acoustic which makes loud even louder! We held a colouring session this week, they bring such a positive energy, we cannot wait until next time. Thank you Little Pippins! ❤️

So, join the troupe at Christ the Consoler Newby Hall for a hilariously high-octane production of Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ like you’ve never seen before. Forget the tears and tragedy, our Macbeth is chock full of mishaps, mayhem and mirth. We all know the story. Mysterious spirits appear, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth plot to kill the king, and things get rapidly out of hand from there ... Suitable for all ages and apparitions. The HandleBards are an intrepid three-strong troupe spending the summer bringing environmentally sustainable Shakespeare to venues across the UK. We could not be more excited! Tomorrow launches our Christ the Consoler Summer 2026 Season. We already have over 150 guests coming to watch Jane Eyre, tickets still available if you want to join us. Then we will be welcoming Nicola Mills with an evening of Opera which is a simply not to miss one. We are so excited to welcome the Ryedale Festival in July with a performance of The Salt Road. And finally, hot off the press, we will soon be releasing tickets for the amazing theatre company, The HandleBards, who are coming in August to perform Macbeth! There is plenty of parking and a bar run by the superb local pub The Black Lion.
