For those listening to Archdeacon Martin's sermon in church yesterday, I came across the Lego interpretation of Matthew 14, 22-23

We all have choppy waters and questions, but having and sharing our faith will guide us.

Teddy Bear Service
Everyone brought their special teddy bear to the informal "all age service" and we started the service with singing musical "The Teddy Bear's Picnic," and playing our musical instruments. We thought about our bears and watched a short video about Baloo and Mowgli from "The Jungle Book." They sang "The Bare Necessities."

Activities included collecting different names of bears spread around the church and making a passport for our bear; colouring a bear, designing a book mark with stickers of bears; and writing a prayer beneath a picture of a bear.

Thank you to Pat and Ray and everyone else who arranged such a fun service.

A beautiful poster for a beautiful group.

St Mary's Toddlers is having a real impact and we are delighted to offer the group all year round for older siblings too.

We're missing Revd David from the singalongs though!!

Our theme was christenings or baptisms and we had activities around our theme.

We wrote prayers to the family for the baby being christened later in the day.

We decorated and also cut out doves to remind us that, in the Christian tradition, a dove appeared as a sign of the Holy Spirit and descended upon Jesus after his baptism by John the Baptist.

We put candles on cup cakes to remind us that a candle is a sign of baptism. The candle represents the Light of Christ.

I loved these wonderful flower arrangements. Thank you to everyone involved for making St Mary's so beautiful for our Easter celebrations.

"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. " (Matthew 6: 28)

Lilies are traditional for Easter because their white colour symbolises the purity and divinity of Jesus Christ, while their spring flowering represents resurrection, rebirth and hope.

Children of all ages enjoyed the Easter tomb biscuits this morning after our moving service.

Moving as in moving around the church.
Moving as in hearing from the people who encountered Jesus in the days before his death on the Cross.
Joyful in that we also get to celebrate the joy of Easter too.

See you at 10am on Sunday for a full on celebration of the Resurrection.
