Today we were blessed to welcome Years 5 & 6 from St John’s Primary School as they joined our parish community for Mass. The children took part so beautifully — altar serving, reading, and presenting the offertory gifts — bringing a real sense of joy and youthful faith to our liturgy.

Moments like these show the strength of the relationship between our parish and St John’s. When children take an active role in Mass, they grow in confidence, belonging, and an understanding that faith is lived together — not just taught in classrooms.

It’s also a wonderful expression of Catholic Social Teaching, especially the call to community and participation: every person, no matter their age, has gifts to share, and our parish is richer when we make space for them.

Please keep the children, their teachers, and their families in your prayers today.

Wondering how to balance Mary & Martha in Modern Worship?

Here are some helpful tips;

☀️ Create a Daily Worship Routine
Set aside a moment each day for prayer, Scripture, or uplifting worship music — let it bring peace and lightness to your day.

🌈 Practice Gratitude
Notice God’s blessings throughout your day and thank Him with a joyful heart. Gratitude adds colour to ordinary moments.

💛 Serve with Joy
Look for simple ways to bless your family, church, or community. Let your acts of service be bursts of love.

🎉 Limit Distractions
Use simple tools like apps, journals, or a quiet space to help you stay focused and present.

🌿 Incorporate Rest
Give yourself permission to pause, breathe, and recharge spiritually. Rest is part of worship.

Our parish is blessed to support a wonderful Catholic school where faith, learning, and community grow hand in hand.

Over the next few months, the school will be hosting several Open Days, and families are warmly invited to come and see what makes this community so special.

If you’re considering a place for your child these open days are a perfect chance to meet the staff, explore the classrooms, and experience the school’s caring, faith‑filled environment.

Please share the details with anyone who might be interested.

Let’s help our local Catholic school continue to flourish and welcome new families into its community.

We are called to renew our commitment to the planet, how we treat it as individuals, and how we hold to account how governments and industries treat the world whilst producing our energy and goods we consume. It is another way in which we show our love in action, in the way we care for creation.

‘Individual actions may seem insignificant but together the small steps of many people can have an astonishing impact."
