On what was the hottest day of the year in the heatwave Paul once again held his garden party to raise money for St. Mary’s church! Thank you to everyone who came and braved the heat and enjoyed chips, scones with jam and cream and Paul’s ice cream! A special thank you to Paul for all his hard work and for the ‘team’ of Joan, Fiona, Ged, Sam and Jill.

The Ladies Fellowship at St Mary’s has been led for the last 23 years by Gill Jones, throughout that time not only have they had fun together, meals out, trips and different talks they have also raised thousands of pounds for charity both near and far, not least for the children of Chernobyl and those affected by the war in the Ukraine, one of things they did in the Ukraine was to buy a goat which they called ‘Gill’ in her honour.
Yesterday was her last day of leading the group and is going to take a well earned break but she will be still coming to the meetings.
These will be monthly from the 9th of September.

What a fabulous Pet Service this morning, one of my most favourite services of the whole when we have a church full of dogs! So lovely to see them all and they were very well behaved!
Thank you to Sam for looking after Dylan (the Vicars dog) whilst she attempted to not be distracted!
