God, as we turn to the news anticipating more headlines about pain and suffering, guard us against complacency and compassion fatigue, and strengthen our faith in your sovereignty over the world. Fill us with hope and resolve to make the world what you would have it be. Open our eyes to the little things, yet challenge us to look beyond our horizons to your bigger purposes. In the midst of those things that make us sad, help us to find and cherish moments of sustaining joy as we build God’s kingdom.

This Sunday at Reigate starts with Messy Church breakfast at 9.45. Rev. David Shaw is leading our service, and for the communion section we'll be going downstairs to join with Messy Church. Therefore the livestream https://youtube.com/live/v7H3NedxVCw?feature=share won't include the whole service

A despised tax collector called, a dinner with outcasts, and a Savior who came for the sick, not the healthy. Sit with Jesus in the quiet courtyard as the meal ends. What is on your heart today? Share it with Him now. 🕊️✨

Reigate Methodist Toddler Group

Due to my ongoing health problems, and with my husband having been ill over the summer, I have had to make the very difficult and sad decision to close the Reigate Methodist Toddler Group.

As this chapter closes, we do so with many fond memories and sincere gratitude for the support of so many people. It has been a great pleasure to provide a welcoming place for toddlers and their carers to gather together.

As Reigate Church considers whether something for toddlers and their carers could resume later, maybe in a different format, please get in touch if you have any ideas as to how this might work best.

Our summer prayer this week was written by Gwen and Brian:

Lord, we thank you for our church here:
For our ministers and leaders, for their teaching and encouragement;
For the fellowship, and the friendships that develop within the wide range of ages.
For the situation of the church building and the opportunities to use it to reach out to the community;
For the love and care that we receive from each other;
We pray that you will give strength and guidance to our leaders and those in leadership training.
We pray for those who live or work in Reigate and ask that individuals may be drawn closer to you through our witness .
Help us to learn from each other across all ages and experiences.
We pray for each other and ask you to show us the way forward for our church in line with your will.
Amen
