Build your life in Christ
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." — Matthew 28:19–20
Jesus' final command to His disciples was not merely to make converts, but to make disciples—people who know Him, love Him, obey Him, and help others follow Him. This calling remains for every believer today.
The Christian life was never meant to be lived in our own strength. Without prayer, the Word of God, and the power of the Holy Spirit, we will become spiritually weak. When prayer disappears, love grows cold, offences increase, and the Church loses its passion for Christ. Yet God calls His people to walk in holiness, to love one another, and to shine as lights in a dark world.
The wonderful truth of the gospel is that we do not earn God's love through good works. God loved us first. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so that everyone who believes in Him may receive forgiveness and everlasting life. Our obedience is not an attempt to gain God's love—it is our grateful response to the love He has already shown us through Christ.
As children of God, we can trust our Heavenly Father. He does not abandon those who belong to Him. When we acknowledge Him, place our faith in Jesus Christ, and continue to walk in His ways, He remains faithful to His promises.
Many people believe that being kind, charitable, or polite is enough to enter heaven. While these are good qualities, the Bible teaches that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Good works are the fruit of salvation, not the means of obtaining it. We are saved by God's grace through faith, and our lives should reflect the transforming work of Christ within us.
As Christians living in today's world, many bear the name "Christian" yet have never truly come to know Jesus or spent time reading His Word. Let us not simply carry His name but become faithful disciples who seek Him daily through Scripture, prayer, and obedience.
Today, choose to build your life on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ. Let His Word guide your decisions, let prayer strengthen your heart, and let the Holy Spirit empower you to love as Christ loved. Then you will stand firm, whatever storms may come, knowing that the Lord Himself has promised:
"Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me before I ever loved You. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to save me by Your grace. Help me to be a faithful disciple who loves Your Word, remains faithful in prayer, and walks in the power of the Holy Spirit. Teach me to obey Your commands, to love others as Christ has loved me, and to build my life on the unshakable foundation of Jesus. May my life bring glory to Your name until the day I see You face to face. In Jesus' name, Amen.
