Reading Christadelphians

Reading Christadelphians We are a community with a deep respect for God's word and a strong sense of family and fellowship. Christadelphians have met in Reading for over 100 years.

We are a body of Christians who try to base our beliefs and practices wholly on the Bible, which we regard as God's word. We try therefore to rid ourselves of the various ideas and rituals which have attached themselves to Christianity over the last 2,000 years and to return to the beliefs and practices of the first century apostles. We are a community without the trappings of elaborate buildings,

priests or icons, but with a deep respect for God's word and a strong sense of family and fellowship. We believe that Jesus Christ, although a man, was the Son of God. Because he led a sinless life, God raised him from the dead and exalted him to a place of honour by his side. God has promised that all those who put their faith in Jesus will also be raised from the dead - when Jesus returns to the earth to rule over it in peace and righteousness. "Behold, the dwelling of God is with men. He will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them; he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away." - Revelation 21:3 (RSV)

The Bible is the only holy book that predicts future events. The ultimate test is: do its predictions come true? If so, we have every reason to trust the whole Bible. You are warmly invited to come to this week’s Bible Hour at our hall on the Oxford Road in Reading at 2:15pm to delve into the subject “Prophecies in the Bible – fulfilled!” Or you can join on Zoom, just message for details.

What's the world coming to? There isn't much good news about these days, but our Bible Hour talk on Sunday will share good news about the coming Kingdom of God. God said: '...as truly as I live all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord', and we will glimpse what it will be like through prophecy, and the impact on men and women when Jesus preached the Gospel in New Testament times

Ukraine, Israel, Sudan... There are many wars going on in the world and mankind seems unable to stop them. In the two world wars many millions were killed and many people are fearful of a third one starting. The Bible helps to explain the problem and what God's solution is.

Everybody wanted the £50, but nobody was ever able to claim it. Why not? Tomorrow, we'll look at what the Bible DOES say on this subject. It may surprise you…

Who would have thought that a poem written in the Middle East 3,000 years ago would still be relevant in the 21st Century? In this talk, we'll look at how King David of Israel's experiences and reflections not only illustrate a bygone era, but can also be helpful to people like us in 2026.
