So 16 years ago today, we'd taken about 60 teenagers to Christian Youth Festival. A levels result were released on this morning. The teenagers who were expecting their A level results were told to make contact with their parents/guardians.
We (the leaders) noticed that one particular youngster refused to come out of his camping tent after hearing his results.
My wife mentioned this to me and I needed to do something as the minister responsible for these youngsters.
As I walked to the young man's tent the Lord spoke clearly to me and said that he had called this particular young man into the ministry and that He was going to use him mightily.
Unbeknown to me this young man had applied to go into medical school but tge results he got that morning was at variance with what his predictions and expectations were.
As I entered the tent, all I could see was a crushed young man with tears streaming down his face. I told him what the Lord had told me and we chatted for about half an hour by which time he was ready to follow me to the big top to join others for worship. Richard is now a fantastic minister and pastor who God is using mightily. Richard, I salute you and your ministry and thank God for your obedience and willingness to serve the master.
I want to use this opportunity to congratulate ( Joshua Owoo- you smashed it) all those who got their A level results today But in particular to those who are disappointed with the results they got. As important as it is, today's results and other results are pieces of paper which will have little bearing on your life and your future as a whole. There is a God who is the author and finisher of your faith!
Leaders - who under your leadership is in their tent struggling with disappointment, fear , and disillusionment at the turn of events and the curved ball that life has thrown at them ? Isn't it about time that you popped into their ''tent'' for a chat ? And what is the Lord saying to you about those under your leadership?

[8] Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

3 years ago today I was still the senior minister of a church in Berkshire. Then I travelled to Nigeria to bury my Dad. When I returned some people had ganged up and made some false accusations against me. I was so down that I resigned from ministry.
Fast forward 3 years and some of those people who made the accusations have written privately individually to ask for forgiveness. The Union which should have protected me at the time took sides with them . What would you do if you were in my shoes? In the 3 years, I have done all sorts, from Delivery driver to anything my hands could find to do to put food on the table, roof over our heads and clothing on our backs.
Through it all, one thing was for sure; the hand of the Lord was upon me ! Though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I feared no evil!
Today, I can confidently say that my life is a 100 times better than it was 3 years ago! I genuinely thank God for the people who plotted against me when I was out of the country to bury Dad.
Today as you read this post, don't be dismayed and don't worry or fret if people are plotting or telling lies against you. One of these days, your God will show up and He will vindicate you !
And before you get all carnal, in those 3 years I have led over 100 people to Christ and seen many get baptized!
Our God is a good (G) Lord (Lud) Almighty and All His ways are perfect ! 🙏 Shalom ! # Our God reigns !
