We are pleased to announce the details of our upcoming Youth Weekend are now available on our website.

This year’s Youth Weekend takes place on the weekend of the 10th-12th February with the theme “Transformed by love.” As well as Bible studies, meetings and worship, there will be games and an activity on the Saturday afternoon.

Our upcoming Youth Weekend is less than two weeks away and we’re excited for all that we’ve planned for the online sessions. Every person that signs up for the weekend receives a welcome pack mailed to them through the post. We are looking forward to the online New Life Conference meetings this weekend. There are three meetings over the weekend, the first of these meetings will be on Saturday at 19:30 where Larry Hill will speak. On Sunday there will be two meetings, one in the morning at 10:30 when Dave Meeten will speak and one in the evening at 19:30 when Les Wheeldon will speak.

We won’t be having a Sunday morning ECF Zoom meeting this week as instead we will be joining the online New Life Conference meetings.

The first of these meetings will be on Saturday 8th August at 7:30pm where Larry Hill will speak that evening and on Sunday 9th August we will have two meetings. In the morning at 10:30am Dave Meeten will speak and in the evening, Les Wheeldon will speak at 7.30pm.

The Sunday morning meeting will contain a children’s talk as well as some short video clips with the leaders from Sunbeams, Searchlights and the Youth Tent. There will also be missionary input during each meeting.

We are delighted to announce that we have recently launched a YouTube Channel. On the channel you are able to re-watch most of the ministry from our virtual meetings over the past couple of weeks. These videos are available alongside the audio recordings from our meetings which can continue to be listened to and downloaded from our website. We had a great time reminding ourselves of the Easter message yesterday. In these unusual times at the moment we cannot physically meet together however we are able to ‘meet’ virtually. These virtual meetings are precious times of fellowship where we can pray and worship together as well as being built up and encouraged by the Word of God. We even managed to include a puppet show in our children’s segment yesterday!

Statement from the Eldership - 18/03/2020

In the light of government revised guidelines, Earley Christian Fellowship has suspended all of its public meetings until further notice. This includes Sunday meetings, icafé, all Children’s and Youth Work, the Toddler Group and House groups. The Men’s Breakfast scheduled for Saturday morning has been postponed. It is very likely that Outreach on Sunday will also be postponed.


We are working through how we function during this period, with regard to contact via phone, email etc., in order to maintain pastoral care. It is important that we care for one and other and consider the needs of others during this time. We heard of an idea yesterday where an individual popped postcards through the doors of elderly neighbours offering to help with shopping, collecting prescriptions etc. This is an opportunity to demonstrate the love of God to our friends and neighbours.

On Sunday morning two people who were involved with our recent Youth Weekend were interviewed live on BBC Radio Berkshire. They were asked about how the theme was relevant to young people and what lasting effects it will have on their lives.

We had a great time at our recent Youth Weekend, around 50 young people came together as we considered how we can be prepared for service as we live out our christian lives.

Over the course of the weekend we had lots of fun, ate lots of great food and we learnt more about God through His Word.
