At my first Farewell, it was suggested that there would only be 2 people today as many people are either away or are unable to come for various reasons. We were so blessed to have 34 in the congregation (6 more than the first Farewell!). Such a lovely surprise. There are so many people here that we're going to miss - we've received blessing upon blessing from these lovely members of the corps and mid-week groups, and especially from God. But it feels the right time to be moving on, and the corps is so fortunate to be getting the amazing Major Carole Gadsden as their new Officer in August :-) Here are a few pictures from today - it's like London time in Reading; throughout the meeting we were getting out extra chairs for more people who were turning up to say goodbye 🤣

1st Farewell (15th June) - Since none of my locals are going to be there on 6th June, Elaine planned this amazing Farewell for me and Jon. It had to be so early because we're on furlough from 20th June to 5th July! I've had such a blessed time at Reading West and will miss everybody so much

A great time was had by everybody at our Black Tie & Evening Dress event. Thanks to Elaine & Derek, Karen, Bruce & Hannah, and Jill for all their hard work in planning and catering for the event, and clearing up afterwards :-)

Take care Sunday when you come to church - we seem to have a huge hole outside (no permission asked, and we weren't made aware.). Cyn, you might need to find somewhere else to park :-( I'm trying to find out who they are and what they're doing, but it's not easy. The contractor I spoke to just said that it's 'emergency electric work' and they'll be there until April....
