Cornerstone Church -Rathfriland

Cornerstone Church -Rathfriland Our vision is to be a vibrant, Jesus centred community who are devoted to teaching, fellowship and prayer for God's glory and our joy...and to pass this on.

We meet on Sundays @10.30 in Rathfrialnd Young Farmers Hall We are a non- denominational church community planted in South Down and based in Rathfriland. We are currently seeking to partner with Acts 29, a church planting network and more details on Acts 29 can be viewed at their website acts29europe.com We are convinced of the life, light and hope that Jesus Christ brings and want to make much of

His Name. We believe the power of the gospel transforms lives, families, communities and nations and the Church is called to be an agent for that transformation. We believe we are made to love God and love people. Our gatherings will reflect our commitment to teaching from God's word- the Bible, prayer and song as an expression of our worship. We believe our gatherings should be a celebration of who God is and what He has done for us in the person of Jesus Christ. We believe faith in Jesus is not something that is meant to be lived out in isolation but within the community Jesus gave us- the Church. We value Church as a family bound together around the shared identity found in Jesus Christ but acknowledging and appreciating that people are uniquely wired and are blessed with contrasting personalities, gifts and talents. We all look different, talk different, get passionate about different things and that's a good thing. We are an imperfect community of people by the very fact we are........people. Through living in community, in pursuit of a perfect God, we seek to hold each other accountable, encourage one another and be open about our imperfections in the light of God's grace to us and His power to transform us. We believe that light should not be hidden, the baton of grace is to be passed on again and again, and hope is contagious. The grace and love we receive from God should be passed on to those around us. The local church is called to "seek the welfare of the city" (Jeremiah 29:7) and we would seek to care for those in need, marginalised and broken in the community. We would love to see practical, physical needs met for people as well as connecting people to a God who meets our deepest need.
