During a leavers’ service today at Salisbury Cathedral our Burton Bradstock Primary School Leavers were encouraged by Bishop Karen Gorham to pass on all the love and light they have received at school to others, building on the strong foundation of their school’s values: ‘Do Justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God' Micah 6:8. 🙏🕊

What a fabulous uplifting morning at St Peter’s Church Langton Herring with the village Community Choir. Huge congratulations to David Burles the choirmaster and to Jem (clarinet), Bronwen (poem), and David (bassoon) for their exceptional individual performances 🙏🕊🎶

Last Friday, The Angels of the North performed at Corton. Robert Lasseter, who organised the concert, says 'They were terrific...the audience was very appreciative. Debbie, guitar, Sarah, flute and Jules sung a wide range of folk and some numbers we all knew.
It was a lovely evening, the chapel full, a few choosing to listen from outside and absorb the view. £420 was raised, which is nearly a third of the way to a decent compost loo. Everyone repaired to Holly’s studio (which was one of the Dorset Arts Weeks venues) where we had a jolly time socialising with a drink.'

Picnic day tomorrow! As well as a lovely opportunity to socialise in the lovely Rectory gardens, there's Dorset Arts Week exhibition in the church and there's a craft fair in the hall!

The weather forecast looks to be warming up. Not only is there a picnic spot in the Rectory Garden, there's also an art exhibition in the church for Dorset Arts Weeks!

Today at St Mary’s Church, Puncknowle, pilgrims from Thorners CE Primary School each received a ‘Pilgrim Passport’, produced in conjunction with the British Pilgrimage Trust, and were excited to collect their first ever stamp in their passports. The stamp was created specifically for Puncknowle by Francesca Dewhurst who is busily working on our Pilgrimage Project. The Y5/Y6 children of ‘Eggardon’ class were excited to see if they could find the unique features of the church Francesca had incorporated in the stamp.
In time, as we develop our Pilgrimage Project, we hope to have stamps for every church in the Benefice and routes that link them all, including some other spiritual places along the way. We have Pilgrim Passports for each of the classes of oldest children in our three primary schools and plan to lead more pilgrimage walks.
Today, after getting their stamps and exploring the church, the pilgrims all sang ‘Seek ye first the Kingdom of God’ and joined in ‘A Pligrim’s Prayer’ 🙏🕊

Pupils from Year 5 and 6, Thorner's School are making a Pilgrimage today - to St Mary's Punckowle. As part of our work with schools and our Pilgrimage project, we have organised a Pilgrim Passport for each child (enough for all the Year 6s across all 3 church schools). They'll be able to collect a stamp at St Mary's Puncknowle today - and maybe the Year 6 pupils will be able to at Salisbury Cathedral when they attend their Leaver's Service too!
Walk well, pilgrim.
