It was wonderful to have had Camperdown Nursery with us today. They celebrated the achievements of the children by giving each child a prize. The parents where there as well making it a special day.

This Sunday we will have a short presentation on Open Doors.

Our reading from Luke 13: 12-13 states:

12 When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.” 13 And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God.

An encounter with Jesus makes a person want to glorify God.

Dear all,

Last night Prestonpans was struck by a thunderstorm.
It was my first time experiencing such intense thunder in Scotland! We woke early this morning with an endless amount of flashes.

It did remind me of the reading in Job 37:2-5:
"Keep listening to the thunder of his voice and the rumbling that comes from his mouth. Under the whole heaven he lets it go, and his lightning to the corners of the earth. After it his voice roars; he thunders with his majestic voice, and he does not restrain the lightnings when his voice is heard. God thunders wondrously with his voice..."

We can appreciate readings like these after last night storm.

We truly worship a powerful God!

Last Sunday we read from 1 Chronicles 1. The reading was difficult as we tried to make sense of a list of ancient names!

We had our Kirk Session Meeting on Monday. We reminded onanother of the importance of shining ones light for all to see.

Wednesday's reflective service went well. We are exploring the Belgic confession. The confession spoke about our sin and the salvation possible in Christ.

Tomorrow we will meet as Presbytery in person at Dalkeith.
The 21st of June we will have our Prize Giving Sunday for all the young ones.

The Word says:

8 “And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God,
(Lk 12:8)

Go and acknowledge our Lord!

We had our Annual Stated Meeting last Sunday. Then, I had the opportunity to speak to a Minister living in South Africa about his ministry and the workings of their church structure.

The weather was strange this week, consequently, I had to avoid the rain cycling for my pastoral visits. I manage to keep myself dry (most of the time!).

For the diary and to pray for:

Tomorrow we will be in the church garden again to water the seeds. Families welcome!
Kirk Session will be on the 8th of June at 19:00 in the Church Hall.
Reflective Bible study will be the 10th of June at 19:00 in the Church Hall.
Presbytery will meet in person on Saturday the 13th of June at Dalkeith

God's word states:

28 But Jesus said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

I can not believe how fast this week went!

We had a session meeting. I was with a family whislt they said their goodbyes to a loved one. Then, we had a cleaning session at Orchard Cresent on Wednesday.

Business, pastoral and maintainance all in one week!

This Sunday Rozelle will share her Christian Aid talk. There will be a special collection for Christain Aid on Sunday. We can look forward also to our Coffee Afternoon on the 30th at 14:00 in the Hall. The monies raised will also be towards Christian Aid.

Then, I am looking forward to sharing communion with you during our Sunday service. See you Sunday.
