Here’s some interesting info about creating a butterfly friendly garden this Autumn in preparation for Spring.

We’re going to have a look at what we can do in our church garden - why don’t you have a think too?

Butterfly Conservation is a British charity devoted to saving butterflies, moths and their habitats throughout the UK.

At our Harvest Thanksgiving Service we gave thanks for God’s Gifts of Creation 🌎

The Harvest Talk / Sermon featured an apple 🍎 from our church garden 🌿

Beautiful flowers 💐 came from a church member’s garden.

All food gifts were donated to
Penwortham food Bank

Our Harvest Prayer…🙏

As we celebrate harvest, let us affirm
what we believe:
We believe that the earth is the
Lord’s and all that lives on it; we
believe that living gratefully and
giving generously are marks of
faith.
We believe that all humanity
should have sufficient food to eat,
and that we must all act now to
support food producers around
the world so that the children of
tomorrow may not be burdened
by the mistakes of today.
And so we commit ourselves to
think globally, to trade fairly, to
live responsibly, to love this world
as God loves it, who, in Christ,
became part of creation.
Amen

Our local Middleforth Green / Pear Tree Park 🌿 is set to benefit from an environmental ‘Habitat Banks’ scheme.

When new housing and commercial developments are built, national planning rules require developers to deliver improvements for nature and wildlife. If suitable projects are not available locally, developers can invest in habitat improvements elsewhere in the country.

Several Habitat Banks are therefore to be created locally helping to create more wildflower meadows, improve ponds, plant trees, and provide better habitats for a diverse range of local wildlife.

Hopefully good news for residents of our Parish.

Last Sunday was World Rivers Day.

World Rivers Day is a celebration of the world’s waterways. It highlights the many values of our rivers, strives to increase public awareness, and encourages the improved stewardship of all rivers around the world.

Rivers in virtually every country face an array of threats, and only through our active involvement can we ensure their health in the years ahead.

Great to see our church school Middleforth Primary is really supporting our eco message as part of this years Scarecrow Festival.
As they say… ‘We’ve given some of our old ‘junk’ a brand-new lease of life, showing our children how creativity, sustainability and recycling can turn something unwanted into something wonderful.’♻️✨
