Weeton St Michael's church annual Garden Party & Rose Queen Festival - 11 July 2026.

Hope this fabulous event is firmly in your diaries. We look forward to seeing your fancy dress entries, all ages welcome. Please search your cupboards and drawers for items for the tombola. If you would like them to be collected please contact Helen on 07305322202, or drop them off at 5 Church Croft. Janet on 07925374024 would be grateful for any raffle prizes.

Don't forget that the roads into the village will be closed between 1.30 and 3.30 pm on the day.

As we have forgotten to put this notice in the Crofter this month it would be terribly helpful if you could circulate this as much as possible. Thank you very much.

ROGATION SUNDAY 10 MAY AT 6.30 PM

On Rogation Sunday we come together with the parishes of the United Benefice and St Anne's Westby to bless our farms and related industries. This year we at Weeton St Michael's are the hosts and we are starting at South View Farm, Greenhalgh PR4 3HL at 6.30 pm, moving onto Sunny Bank Farm, then Fylde Fresh and Fabulous, ending up in the village hall for wonderful refreshments.

This is a very popular event and we ask you to share transport where possible. When you arrive at the village hall please use the overflow car park which is further up Church Road.

We do hope you will be able to join us, everyone is welcome

Unfortunately Tilly Hilton-Finney has had to stand down as Rose Queen elect for this year, however we are delighted to say that Thea Cooper, who attends Weeton St Michael's CE Primary School, will now undertake this role. She will be crowned at the annual Garden Party and Rose Queen festival on 11th July by Rev Philip Chew. We look forward to seeing you all at this very special event.

Many thanks to everyone who made our Easter Day service, led by Rev Bruce, so special. The church looked beautiful and it was wonderful to see friends old and new come together to celebrate this joyful time. We are grateful for everyone's support as we move forward in the next exciting stage of our church's life.

Weeton's part of the United Benefice's Good Friday 3 hour devotional service will be at 1 pm today when our unique stained glass windows will be used for the Stations of the Cross. This will be preceded by the Litany at St Matthew's, Ballam at 12 noon, and followed by An Hour by the Cross on the small green outside St Nicholas, Wrea Green at 2 pm. Our Easter Day Holy Communion is at 11 am on Sunday. Please feel welcome to join us at any or all of these services.

The PCC are delighted to announce that this year's Rose Queen will be Tilly Hilton-Finney. Tilly lives in Weeton and attends Weeton St Michael's C of E Primary School where she is Worship Leader. She will be crowned at the annual Garden Party and Rose Queen festival on 11 July 2026.

Do come along to this very special event which is held on The Croft and is preceded at 2 pm by a fantastic procession around the village.
