A busy Holy Week came to an end with an Easter Day Eucharist this morning. A big thank you to all our wonderful "flower ladies" who decorated the church so beautifully for this very special day in the Christian calendar. A day of JOY and HOPE in this seemingly dark world. "Alleluia. He is risen"
We hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating with family and friends. 🙏😊

Happy Easter from all at the Blessed Virgin Mary 🙏

On Palm Sunday we remember Jesus' humble, triumphal entry into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. The crowds were shouting "hosanna" which means "save we pray" They wanted Jesus to save them from the rule of Roman oppression but he was a different Messiah! Today marks the beginning of Holy Week as we reflect on his passion, death before celebrating his resurrection on Easter Day.

A lovely Mothering Sunday service today. In one of the photos you will spot a very special visitor from Hambleton Primary Academy- the reading bear! He well behaved and made very welcome. Rev Maureen asked us if we knew who were the children of the well known mothers whose names were on the wall. Some were difficult 🤔 - especially Lois, Eunice and Jochebed. Send us a message if you know the answers!
The job of the children was to find the names of the offspring and put them up on the wall underneath the mother's name. These mothers may not have known it at the time but they all bore children who were an important part of God's plan. We don't know God's plan for our lives but we are all special, important and loved by Him.
Thank you to all who came today especially all the children and young people who were amazing. 🙏❤️

A time to celebrate and give thanks!! 🪻🌼🤲

Mothering Sunday is an important day in the churches calendar. It isn't just about biological motherhood but an opportunity to also honour the nurturing, caregiving and loving that exists in so many forms. It is a time to give thanks to God for all these wonderful gifts wherever they are found. All are welcome to come along to do just this and receive a small bunch of daffodils to give to the special person in your life who you would like to thank.
Refreshments will be served after the service and we would love to see you on Sunday morning.
